Fashion journalism, MA student Sue-Wen kindly sent me few pictures ( that were published before on http://theroom406.blogspot.com) of the graffitis in good old Saint Martin’s toilet in Charing Cross road. Even toilets in the new building are just not the same…
If anyone has any more graffiti from CHX do email me.

” Not so central Saint Martin’s ” was a name of today’s Evening Standard’s feature about the official press opening of the new Saint Martin’s home at King’s cross ( oddly enough not even all members of stuff were invited to that one). I would like to add not so Saint Martin’s either. It is now ruled by graphic designers, animators and god knows who else while fashion is slowly dying somewhere at the corner.
Fashion people at Saint Martins you will have to make an extra effort. And please stop saying ” i don’t like fashion” It was OK at Charing Cross, because there was a lot of it, now it’s just a betrayal.
Few days ago I gave an interview to Vice Style, do read when you get a chance. There are also some really rear photos ( Julie Verhoeven’s travel cards from the 80s, she gave it to me ages ago, to include in the film, which i will do, but for now you can enjoy them at vice website)

By the way we almost have 10 000 views of the trailer on Vimeo, and it’s been only a week since the trailer is officially online. Oh, almighty Susie Bubble!
The idea of the documentary’s title : ’ i hate my collection’ comes from a graffiti, from about 12 years ago, found in Saint Martin’s old buidling on Charing Cross road by Judith, probably in a toilet, that’s where all the graffiti used to be, well at least all the good once.
For the past yeah and a half, actually almost two years I was trying to find someone who hates their graduation collection. It wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be, in fact most of people love their collections ( imagine that ? ), or maybe they are just trained to say so, it sounds better for press, who knows but the closest to ’ i hate my collection’ was : ’ It’s ok’ or ’ I don’t really like it’ but nothing as radical.
Yesterday, I saw an interview with Ehud Joseph, a former Saint Martins student, and he actually hates his collections. You can read the whole interivew here:

P.S. And by the way, I also found a review that talks about a Saint Martins documentary that is called ’ I despise my collection’ I hope it’s a spoof on the film that doesn’t exist quite yet.
People’s reaction has been fantastic! Almost 3000 views since yesterday morning! Thank you everyone for your support!
What a wonderful review from Grazia Daily by Naomi Attwood! Thank you Naomi! I really appreciate all your support!

‘Central Saint Martin’s School of Fashion is such an important institution whose influence in fashion has been a vital part of British culture for the past 60 years. It has been a crucible of design and art talent, from Amanda Lear to filmmakers Derek Jarman and John Maybury to fashion designers Bill Gibb and Katharine Hamnett to Galliano, Stephen Jones, John Flett and Rifat Ozbek. While its more recent Alumni is topped by the late, great Lee McQueen, it has continued to irritate, agitate, cajol, push and propel creative vision from the newer voices of Jonathan Saunders, Richard Nicoll and Christopher Kane. It is telling that that all came from a rundown building in Soho, where so many tutors worked for the love of it. There was no-where else like it in the world and a film that cherishes its past and looks to the future is long overdue.’
Finally the first teaser from the documentary! Please spread the word! Thank you and hope you enjoy it!
